Completes technical-oriented service tasks of various scopes and supports in planning and managing these tasks.
This position supports the Medical Linear Accelerator Systems business within the greater Chicago area.
This position will be responsible for customer relationship management through the effective use of technical knowledge to install, troubleshoot, service, and diagnosis and treatment imaging solutions at customer sites utilizing hand tools as well as specialized test tools (DVM, Oscilloscope, etc.)
Your role:
* Assist in (on-site) service repair, preventative maintenance, field change orders/installations for Varian/SHS treatment and on-board imaging equipment.
* Prepare work orders, parts orders, part returns, mileage logs, expense forms, time sheets and other administrative paperwork
* Defines problems: Collects data, establishes facts, and draws valid conclusions.
Has the ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions and deal with abstract and concrete variables

* Located in the Chicago areaor open to moving
* BSEE/BSEET/BMET preferred, or two-year formal education combined with appropriate high tech related experience
* At least two years of experience demonstrating repair and troubleshooting skills with Electro-mechanical equipment is required
* Ability to understand and apply electronic, mechanical and computer networking theory to install, diagnose and repair equipment including ability to read and interpret schematics and site drawings
* You must be able to successfully perform the following: minimum Physical, Cognitive and Environmental job requirements with or without accommodation for this Field Service position
Minimum Required Skills and Knowledge:
* Frequent use and application of technical documentation, standards, principles, concepts, and techniques in the field.
* Uses acquired job skills and company policies to complete assigned tasks.
* Sound knowledge of and professional experience with electronic and electro-mechanical engineering, testing equipment used for verification/checkout and calibration of electronic equipment.
* Sound knowledge of and professional technical experience with micro-computers/PC based systems
* Sound computer usage and debugging skills.
Ability to identify and repair routine software and delivery system network problems.
* Identify and resolve simple imaging system defects.
* Performs routine maintenance, including major STBs.
