Work you'll do
As a Tax Consultant II on the M&A team, you will be responsible for:
* Support corporate and private equity buyers on tax due diligence for buy-side and sell-side transactions
* Analyze transaction structures and model tax implications for acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures, and other strategic transactions
* Prepare due diligence reports and summarize findings, risks, and recommendations for C-suite and other executive stakeholders
* Conduct research on technical tax issues and apply findings to transaction planning and structuring
* Collaborate with client stakeholders and cross-functional teams to identify tax risks, evaluate opportunities, and support transaction execution

The team
Deloitte Tax LLP, Merger & Acquisition (M&A) professionals provide corporate and private equity buyers with a broad continuum of advisory services to support mergers, acquisitions, carve-outs, investment and financing structures, disposition alternatives and post-transaction activities.
Working with clients before, during and after the transaction, tax professionals work with clients across corporate functions such as finance, tax, treasury, human resources, operations, information technology and risk management to analyze and evaluate tax risks and opportunities related to acquisitions, divestitures, reorganizations, and other transactions, and help meet each organization's global goals, strategies and business objectives.
Qualifications
Required:
* Ability to perform job responsibilities within a hybrid work model that requires US Tax professionals to co-locate in person 2-3 days per week
* Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Juris Doctor (JD), or Master of Laws (LLM)
* 2+ years of corporate tax experience with a Big 4 organization, law firm, or multinational company tax department
* Ability to travel 25%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve.
