HVAC Technician (FT)
Job Title: HVAC Technician Department: Campus Facilities & Maintenance Reports To: Director of Facilities Management FLSA Status: Full-Time, Non-Exempt Position Summary The HVAC Technician installs, maintains, and repairs climate control systems across campus facilities.
This role also requires a comprehensive understanding of and commitment to the unique Christian mission and vision of ACU to Transform Culture with Truth, and the ability to advance that mission and vision through the performance of its duties, including person-to-person mentorship and discipleship.
Core Responsibilities System Maintenance & Repair: Perform routine preventative maintenance on campus HVAC/R equipment, including motors, bearings, coils, and filters.Troubleshooting: Diagnose and repair malfunctions in heating, air conditioning, and ventilation units to ensure optimal building temperatures.Building Automation: Monitor and program Energy Management Systems (EMS) and computerized building controls to regulate temperatures remotely and maximize energy efficiency.Installations & Upgrades: Plan, lay out, and install new HVAC ductwork, heating units, and cooling systems during campus expansions or renovations.Safety & Compliance: Ensure all work adheres to EPA standards, proper handling of refrigerants, and university safety policies.Emergency Response: Provide on-call, after-hours support for critical HVAC emergencies in dormitories, classrooms, and campus buildings.

Demonstrated alignment with and enthusiastic support for the Christian Mission and Core Commitments of the University, including signing the University's Statement of Faith and Core Commitments annually.
Position Requirements Education: High school diploma or GED required; associates degree or technical certification in HVAC maintenance preferred.Experience: 2 to 5+ years of hands-on commercial or residential HVAC experience.Certifications: EPA Section 608 Certification is required.Licensing: Valid driver's license and a clean driving record are mandatory.Physical Demands: Ability to lift 65 lbs, climb ladders, and work comfortably in varying weather conditions and confined spaces.
