Facilities Maintenance Technician
POSITION SUMMARY: The Facilities Engineer/GSE Technician II is the second level in a series of positions responsible for performing a variety of duties in support of the maintenance and repair of facilities and grounds, including carpentry, remodeling, painting, plumbing, electrical, roofing and a variety of other building maintenance work.
This is an experienced-level position that has no supervisory responsibilities and reports to the Manager of Facilities.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Performs regular maintenance, troubleshoot, disassemble, repair, and reassemble such items as hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical equipment, automotive equipment, tugs, jacks, 400Hz power units, golf carts, maintenance stands.Manages GSE Work Orders & PMs in the CMMS system.Performs highly diversified duties to install and maintain production machines and facility equipment.Performs general building maintenance without supervision.Trouble shoots test individual components to determine necessary repairs.Repairs or replaces worn or defective parts.Provides emergency/unscheduled service to all equipment on site.Installs electrical wiring and controls and test for proper operation.Performs mechanic skills including, but not limited to, HVAC, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair.Regular maintenance of heating and cooling systems, including: cleaning of ducts, replacing filters, and checking refrigerant levels.Reads and interprets equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.Diagnoses problems, and makes adjustments.Performs regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment and plant facilities.Performs a variety of plumbing, electrical maintenance and carpentry functions.Uses a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties.Detects faulty operations, defective material and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision.Complies with safety regulations and maintains clean and orderly work areas; Maintains the work area free of trash or hazardous conditionsKeeps inventory of spare parts & equipment.Assumes responsibility for related duties as required or assigned.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:High school graduate or equivalent.Valid drivers license.Related technical or trade school education.2+ years of diversified industrial mechanical experience, including experience working with BMS systems/Building Automation Systems and experience working on a CMMS/Work order system.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:Aircraft maintenance hangar experience.Experience working with Johnson Controls-Metasys.SUCCESS FACTORS/JOB COMPETENCIES:Must be able to read and understand blueprints and technical reference manuals.Proficient with MS Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, etc.).Good understanding of equipment operation and maintenance procedures.Attentive to detail.Knowledge of fire alarm and fire suppression systems.Should be a highly motivated sel...
