Logistics Lead 2nd shift
Key Responsibilities The primary responsibility of the lead is to mentor, coordinate, and train material handling skills and processes throughout the company.
Organizational Relationships and Authority The lead reports directly to the Logistics Manager.
There are no direct reports associated with this position; however the lead will have the authority to direct work of others whenever the manager is not present.
All positions at GSM have the authority and responsibility to temporarily stop work due to a safety concern.
Additional responsibilities include: Trains and develops by utilizing defined skills, JBIs, SOPs, and ISO procedures to achieve high levels of knowledge and professionalism so as to maximize each individual's ability to contribute to achieving corporate goals Collaborate to ensure training documents reflect current state processes Receives factory training on all new equipment and technologies Assists in developing appropriate standards to ensure the right skills are taught Monitors and communicates new hire training status with supervisors Monitors equipment for proper function and suggest improvements and replacements as needed Maintains accreditation in area of focus Audits process to ensure compliance to process and report findings Collaborates effectively with team members prioritizing overall company objectives.
Mentors new employees through leading by example, teaching of all job specific duties and responsibilities, ensuring their successful integration to the department.
Accurately and promptly completes all paperwork associated with the position (inspections, benchmark sign offs, audits etc.) Identifies and reports cost control opportunities Supports corporate policies and procedures consistently so as to establish and sustain an effective, fair work environment for all employees All Leads are expected to update job knowledge on an ongoing basis by identifying and participating in functionally related educational opportunities.
