Software Engineer III - Full stack

As a Software Engineer III at JPMorganChase within the Infrastructure Platforms Digital Workflows Product Line, you serve as a seasoned member of an agile team to design and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way.
You will design, develop, test, and troubleshoot software solutions across the SDLC in a secure, stable, and scalable way, working in a collaborative agile team.
You are responsible for carrying out critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm's business objectives.
Job responsibilities
* Design, code, test, and deliver full-stack workflow features end-to-end.
* Build backend services and integrations primarily in Java and Python.
* Build and consume REST APIs (GraphQL a plus) across internal and external services.
* Leverages enterprise-authorized AI coding assist tools within the work environment to improve code quality, delivery speed, and productivity across complex deliverables (e.g., code generation/refactoring, unit test creation, documentation), while validating outputs through peer review, automated testing, and secure coding standards; contributes learnings and reusable patterns to improve broader team effectiveness.
* Applies knowledge of tools within the Software Development Life Cycle toolchain, including enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development and automation capabilities, to improve the value realized by automation.
* Contribute to retrieval patterns (RAG), embeddings usage, and semantic search integrations where needed.
* Write secure, high-quality, well-tested code using engineering best practices.
* Participate in code reviews and improve test coverage and maintainability.
* Use CI/CD practices to ship reliably and improve operational stability.
* Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve issues with awareness of upstream/downstream impacts.
* Collaborate with product, platform, and engineering partners to deliver outcomes and communicate progress.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
* Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experience
* Demonstrated ability coding and debugging in Java and Python.
* Full-stack development experience across services/APIs and UI components.
* Hands-on experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
* Experience across the SDLC with exposure to agile delivery practices.
* Working knowledge of CI/CD workflows and modern delivery toolchains.
* Practical understanding of secure-coding practices and application security fundamentals.
* Working knowledge of SQL and data fundamentals that support reliable feature behavior.
