Tool and Die Maker Apprentice

* Train, shadow, and assist a Senior Tool & Die Maker with 20 years of experience.


* Operate tool room equipment, including lathes, various surface grinders, mill, drill presses.



* Troubleshoot press/die and part quality issues on galvanized steel and aluminum stamped and progressive stamped parts.


* Mill consumable parts to support various production line equipment.


* Sharpen, repair, troubleshoot metal forming and progressive stamping tools.



* Conduct maintenance work on machines.


* Build and assemble new tools.


* Interpret tooling prints.


* Understand the operation of the press.


* Maintain a clean and safe work area.


* Assist with other related duties as required or assigned.

Education and/or Experience:


* 2 years of relevant manufacturing experience


* High School Diploma or equivalent

* Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings

* Perform basic shop math (fractions, decimals, measurements)


* Operate basic machine shop equipment under supervision


* Use hand and power tools safely


* Understand machining processes and metalworking fundamentals


* Follow quality standards and inspect finished work


* Maintain a safe and organized work area


* Demonstrate strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail


* Willingness to learn and complete apprenticeship training

Work Conditions: This job operates in an industrial manufacturing environment exposure to varying temperatures, loud noise levels, dust, fumes, oil, or other outdoor elements.

This role requires regular standing, walking, and sitting for extended periods of time.

Climbing stairs/ladders, squatting, sitting, operating machinery, and may require lifting to 50lbs, and must be able to wear PPE as required.

This is a full-time position and may require some overtime including nights and weekend work.
