Lab Technician (FinishWorks)
GENERAL SUMMARY: The Lab technician will work primarily within a designated development group, preparing customer samples, color-match products, and producing laboratory formulations.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.
Other duties may be assigned.
· Prepare lab samples and production trial batches
· Color match with minimal supervision
· Maintain concise and accurate documented laboratory records
· Transfer accurate formula records into the computer program
· Conduct performance and quality tests as required
· Work on miscellaneous projects as directed by supervision

Experience and Education Required
· High School Diploma or GED equivalent
· 1-year experience in production tinting and color matching
Specific Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required
· Self-motivated to work diligently and independently, within a team atmosphere
· Acceptable Munsel Color Test Score
· Accurate execution of simple mathematics, including addition, subtraction, division & multiplication
· Basic computer data entry skills
· Responsibility for assigned equipment and workstation regarding maintenance and cleanliness
Reasoning Ability
· Determine correct processes regarding defined laboratory procedures
· Work without continuous supervision while completing assigned projects

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Typical laboratory environment with moderate solvent odors.
Normal hazards associated with handling, compounding, and application of coatings.
Must follow HMIS and MSDS guidelines for these materials.
