Parent Coordinator
LEGACY EARLY COLLEGE OVERVIEW Legacy Early College is a K4-12 public charter school that originated through the vision of businessman William Brown in 2009, with an unwavering focus on "To and Through College" at every grade level.
Legacy's model combines academics, nutrition, physical fitness, and mental health.
In addition to our college-driven academic standards, meals are made on site, scholars participate in PE every day, and Social-Emotional Literacy is integrated into the culture and curriculum.
POSITION OVERVIEW The Parent Coordinator is essentially a liaison between families and school, building relationships between family, teachers and community for the betterment of school success by reducing language barriers and increasing communication.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Increase communication by coordinating phone calls, letters or home visits.
Co-create ways to increase face to face meetings.
Co-plan, facilitate & execute parent events on all campuses.
Co-create, translate, distribute and collect parent/teacher/scholar surveys.
Assist with academic programs to increase scholar achievement.
Collaborate with the school site and federal programs dept.
personnel to reach Federal & school goals.
Develop an inviting environment to educate and supply relevant resources for parents.
Assist community members to combine local & federal funding sources to meet needs.
Submit all event documentation in a timely manner.
Attend all parent events sponsored by Federal programs.
Translate/ interpret written/verbal information provided for parents.
Identify new systems and programs for efficient school operations and process improvements.
Supports student recruitment initiatives.
Supports the planning of all school field trips.
Plans and executes upon all school events (students, parents, and staff) Establish an annual event calendar in conjunction with the School Leadership Team.
Serve as the school historian by capturing and archiving event photos.
Support daily operations of transportation services.
Support academic events where parents are concerned.
Conduct school tours for prospective families.
Manage electronic platforms to host newsletter and school-wide communication.
Manage weekly newsletter in collaboration with Principal and Assistant Principals.
Prepare and distribute a weekly newsletter to all families.
Maintains comprehensive knowledge of the parent engagement federal program requirements.
Assemble and host all parent involvement events and federal program planning meetings.
Manage parent involvement purchases.
Manage and track parent involvement inventory.
Establish and maintain a Parent Resource Center with relevant material and resources for parents to utilize.
Conducts semi-annual evaluation of parents' involvement program and overall parent satisfaction.
Updates parent involvement policy and school-parent company annually to meet the changing needs of the parents and the school.
