Critical Minerals Consultant - Government & Public Services
Our Deloitte Strategy & Transactions team helps guide clients through their most critical moments and transformational initiatives.
From strategy to execution, this team delivers integrated, end-to-end support and advisory services covering valuation modeling, cost optimization, restructuring, government operations modernization, business design and transformation, infrastructure and real estate, mergers and acquisitions (M&A), and sustainability.
Work alongside clients every step of the way, helping them navigate new challenges, avoid financial pitfalls, and provide practical solutions at every stage of their journey-before, during, and after any major transformational projects or transactions.
Work You'll Do
We are seeking an experienced Government Sector Consultant to join our team.
The ideal candidate will bring deep experience in the critical minerals ecosystem (e.g., exploration, extraction, processing/refining, separation, recycling, supply chain, and end-use demand), and a strong understanding of how government programs, policy, and funding mechanisms shape efforts across supply chain resilience and innovation across the critical minerals value chain.
This role requires a strategic thinker, with the ability to work independently, mentor junior staff, and provide clear, actionable briefings to senior leaders on key critical minerals issues, risks, and opportunities.

Qualifications
Required:
* Bachelor's degree in geology, chemical engineering, industrial engineering, geology, earth sciences, or other relevant engineering/science field; Master's degree preferred.
* 2+ years of experience working on matters related to the strategic materials ecosystem or critical minerals value chain.
* Must be located in Washington, DC and able to work part-time onsite.
* Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future
* Ability to travel up to 40% on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve.
Preferred
* Demonstrated ability to succinctly brief senior leaders on critical minerals topics, including supply risk, industrial capability, and value-chain bottlenecks.
