What You'll Do

As a Speech-Language Pathologist Clinical Fellow, you will work under appropriate supervision while providing evidence-based speech therapy services to residents.

Responsibilities include:


* Evaluate residents to determine speech therapy needs, functional limitations, and rehabilitation potential under physician orders.


* Develop, implement, and update individualized treatment plans.


* Provide treatment for communication, cognitive-linguistic disorders, and swallowing disorders.


* Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, residents, families, and the interdisciplinary care team.


* Participate in care conferences, utilization review meetings, and rehabilitation meetings.


* Educate residents, caregivers, and families on treatment strategies, safety, swallowing precautions, and home programs.


* Complete timely, accurate, and compliant documentation using electronic medical record systems.


* Assist with restorative nursing education and staff in-service training.


* Maintain a safe treatment environment following infection control and safety standards.


* Participate in quality improvement initiatives and rehabilitation program development.

Qualifications


* Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.


* Eligible for California Speech-Language Pathology Clinical Fellow licensure.


* Eligible to complete Clinical Fellowship requirements for ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP).


* Current CPR certification (or ability to obtain upon hire if required).


* Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
