Mold Builder 1
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: includes the following.
Other duties may be assigned.
1.
Read and interpret work orders and blueprints to determine mold requirements.
2.
Measure and verify dimensions, alignments, and clearances of finished parts using calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
3.
Assist in constructing and maintaining molds, fixtures, and tooling using fabrication equipment (saws, shears, presses, rollers, etc.), while also building components, gauges, jigs, and specialty tools from metal and aluminum.
4.
Perform M.I.G.
and T.I.G.
welding on mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminum; tack, weld, and finish seams.
5.
Grind, sand, or polish surfaces to meet specifications; perform blasting as directed.
6.
Inspect molds for quality, contour conformity, and defects.
7.
Assist in identifying and suggesting improvements for molds and fixtures.
8.
Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment to transport molds.
9.
Record time and job data in the computer system.
10.
Perform housekeeping tasks and maintain a clean, safe work area.
11.
Collaborate with the DHI team and support production schedules as assigned.
12.
Demonstrate professionalism and positive teamwork.
13.
Follow all company policies, quality standards, and safety procedures.

Basic math skills (whole numbers, fractions, decimals).
Ability to accurately measure and verify tolerances.
Basic knowledge of M.I.G.
and T.I.G.
welding techniques.
Mechanical aptitude for mold finishing tools (grinders, sanders).
Ability to use fabrication equipment safely.
Computer skills for data entry and job tracking.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Must pass pre-determined welding exam.
Ability to recognize proper welds as applied to different shapes and thickness of metal.
One to three years of welding/fabrication experience preferred.
Manufacturing experience, preferred.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Certified forklift driver.
Certified Level II saw operator.
