Licensed Veterinary Technician

Job Title: Licensed Veterinary Technician

About the Role

We are hiring on behalf of one of the world's leading animal welfare organizations.

In this role, you will serve as a vital leader on the Community Veterinary Clinic medical team, supporting high-quality, high-volume spay/neuter surgery (HQHVSN) and primary pet care (PPC).

You will direct floor workflow, assist veterinarians with treatments, coach nursing staff, and foster strong client relationships to ensure accessible, compassionate care.

Pay & Incentives



* Hourly Pay Range: $44.24 – $46.64 / hour (Target hiring range for new offers)


* Signing Bonus: $3,500 sign-on bonus eligible upon hire


* Retention Bonus: $3,500 retention bonus available after one year of service

Key Responsibilities



* Perform a full range of technician duties including venipuncture, anesthesia monitoring, surgical prep/assistance, diagnostics, pharmacy, and patient recovery.


* Oversee daily floor workflow, ensuring medical staff utilize time effectively and deliver high-quality patient care.


* Maintain a visible presence on the floor to answer questions, adjust pacing, and support the team.


* Coach nursing staff in gentle, low-stress animal handling and non-judgmental client communication.


* Ensure strict compliance with DEA regulations, controlled drug logging, and standard operating procedures.


* Oversee team breaks, meal periods, and time/attendance adherence.

Training & Operations


* Onboard and train new nursing staff members, delivering hands-on skills assessments and tracking development.


* Assist with mentoring rotating veterinary interns, residents, and technical students.


* Serve on the clinic leadership team, facilitating daily huddles and contributing to operational planning.


* Manage team scheduling, timecard accuracy, and paid time off requests.


* Promote a proactive culture of safety, reporting and addressing workplace hazards promptly.

What We Are Looking For



* Education: Graduation from an accredited school of veterinary science technology (2-year or 4-year program) or equivalent recognised credentials.


* Licensure: Current New York State Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) credential required.
