Senior Embedded Hardware Design Engineer H/F

ContextWithin an R&D team developing embedded electronic products for industrial energy measurement applications, you will contribute to the design and evolution of highly technical digital electronic boards.

You will work on end-to-end developments, from requirement analysis and specification through bring-up, validation, and product robustness improvement, in close collaboration with firmware, PCB, validation, and industrialization teams.

Your missions

* Participate in requirement analysis and hardware architecture function specification.

* Design digital electronic boards based on MPU / SoC architectures.

* Integrate associated functions such as memories, clocks, High Speed interfaces & serial buses interface, hardware security, and power conversion.

* Define and justify design choices with respect to expected performance, robustness, and industrialization.

* Define and drive PCB layout constraints in coordination with routing specialists (stack-up, impedance, critical signals, manufacturability).

* Contribute to bring-up, hardware testing, functional validation, and debugging activities.

* Participate in failure analysis, technical reviews, and continuous improvement of boards and subassemblies.

* Document technical choices, design constraints, and validation results.

Your Profile

* Engineering degree in electronics or equivalent.

* Proven experiences in digital electronic board design in embedded and industrial environments.

* Strong command of complex digital architectures based on MPU/SoC or equivalent.

* Experience integrating memories, high-speed interfaces, and power functions.

* Good understanding of PCB constraints, stack-up, critical signal routing, manufacturability and quality validation techniques (TDR, micro-section).

* Hands-on experience with lab bring-up and hardware debugging (i.e high-speed oscilloscope).

* Ability to work cross-functionally with PCB designer, industrialization, procurementfirmware and quality.

* Technical rigor, analytical skills, autonomy, and strong communication abilities.

Additional appreciated skills

* Knowledge of signal integrity / power integrity topics.

* Signal integrity (i.e Sigrity) and electric simuation tools (PSpice)

* Good practices related to EMC / EMI / ESD.

* DFM / DFT approaches.

* Experience with electronic design tools such as Cadence / Allegro.

* capability to define power budget model & drive thermal simulation with experts

* Understanding of hardware / embedded software interactions, especially during boot and validation phases.

Environment

* Position based in Eybens / Grenoble area.

* Work within a multidisciplinary team.

* Hybrid work organization may be considered depending on project context and level of autonomy.
