Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8 AM – 4:30 PM, some weekends, Holidays and overtime opportunities available.
 

Remote Opportunity: Upon completion of training and Supervisor approval, remote work option may be available.

JOB SUMMARY:

The Digital Eligibility Specialist, LEAP will work in a temporary position working within LEAP (Colorado Low-income Energy Assistance Program) to process applications for eligibility determination of LEAP benefits. 

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

LEAP Program Support:


* The Digital Eligibility Specialist will attend the mandatory State LEAP training and continue to develop a thorough working knowledge of LEAP to support the program and other LEAP staff.


* Extract verification of data from the following data bases; Colorado Benefits Management System (CBMS), Family Support Registry (FSR), Colorado Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), Colorado Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV), Systematic Alien Verification for Entitlements (SAVE), State of Colorado OIT Mainframe State Verification and Exchange System (SVES), Colorado Department of Human Services (CDHS), and automated utility portals as a preliminary step for determining eligibility and processing LEAP applications.


* Explain eligibility criteria to LEAP applicants and agencies, receive applications and review for completeness prior to securing verification to process applications and determining LEAP benefit eligibility.


* Contact vendors, applicants, and other agencies for information, always maintain caseloads and confidentiality of all clients and staff.


* Work all cases within the allotted time frames as required by the State LEAP office, i.e., emergency applications within 18 days and regular applications within 30 days.

LEAP Tracking and Reporting:


* The Digital Eligibility Specialist will track cases in order to send out approval and denial notices within the allotted time (18 days for emergency applications and 30 days for regular applications).


* Address and respond to applicant issues and work with the appropriate vendor/utilities to guarantee payments in emergencies to avoid discontinuance of services.


* Adhere to established goals and ensure that the program’s goals and objectives are being met.

Relationship Management: 


* The Digital Eligibility Specialist is responsible for establishing and maintaining a positive and professional relationship with all customers, vendors, clients, and human services agencies presenting a positive image of the company.
