Position Overview

At Tilcon Connecticut, safety is a core value and the foundation of how we operate.

The Safety Manager leads the development and execution of environmental, health, and safety programs that protect our employees, contractors, customers, and communities across our operations.

This role leads a safety team and partners closely with leaders at all levels to ensure compliance with OSHA, MSHA, DOT, and environmental regulations and drive continuous improvement to reduce risk and strengthen Tilcon's culture of safety excellence.

The Safety Manager also leads training, incident investigations, regulatory interactions, and CRH safety initiatives while fostering a proactive, people-first approach to workplace safety.

As a member of the leadership team, the safety manager is instrumental in promoting our culture and maintaining a strong focus on safety throughout the organization.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS)


* Manages the environmental, health and safety team for multiple facilities under MSHA, OSHA and DOT regulations


* Oversees the development, planning, and implementation of environmental, health, and safety policies and procedures in accordance with regulatory and company policy


* Monitors performance of Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S) programs and regulatory compliance with all federal and state regulations and handles all contact with government agencies


* Conducts or directs employee safety, health and environmental training and regular safety meetings


* Develops and oversees company training programs for employees in areas such as compliance, inspection, safe work process, and company policy


* May serve as point of contact / subject matter expert for emergency personnel


* Utilizing a Human Operational Performance approach, ensures appropriate incident investigation and corrective action is taken where health and safety hazards exist



* Partners with the different line of business managers and teams to identify areas of improvement and provide specific support to operational roles
