P osition Overview

Although NO CDL is required to operate this vehicle, the truck you will drive has the capacity of approximately 35 (or more) tons, which you will use to transport materials.

You may also operate heavy equipment, including a crusher, under the direction of a supervisor.

Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)
The duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:


* Ability to detect safety hazards and equipment malfunctions and respond accordingly.


* Ability to maintain and safely and efficiently operate heavy equipment, including Haul Tuck, Water Truck, Dump Truck, Dredge, Track Hoe, Frontend Loader, and Skid Steer Loader.


* Ability to understand and follow directions.


* Ability to weld and fabricate as needed.


* Assist with miscellaneous duties include but not limited to; general labor, shoveling, performing necessary equipment maintenance, assisting foreperson and/or crew members as needed as requested by the Plant Manager/Superintendent/Foreperson.


* Assist with equipment maintenance as needed.


* Continually drive the truck within the confines of the facility.


* Maintain awareness of OSHA (Occupational Safety & Health Administration) and/ or MSHA (Mining Safety & Health Administration) regulations.


* Perform a pre-trip inspection of vehicle condition daily and inform foreperson of any problems before beginning work .


* Work as a team member with other employees within the facility to ensure a smooth and safe operation.


* You may be required to ensure that the crusher is fed consistently while maintaining all safety regulations (at quarry locations).

* Display a professional and courteous attitude to co-workers, supervisors, and the general public at all times.


* Must be willing to travel and work away from home when required.


* Must be willing to work nights and weekends when necessary.


* Report to the assigned job site ready to begin work at the designated start time.


* Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in the Manual of Safety Practices and Procedures.


* Strict adherence to Shelly Company policies and procedures as outlined in the Company Book of Policies.



* Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as required.


* Timely and regular attendance is an expectation of performance for all Shelly Company employees.
