We take into consideration an individuals background and experience in determining salary; therefore, base pay offered may vary considerably depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

Beacons is a collaborative community initiative providing after-school and summer care for young people in grades K12.

Through Beacons, the YMCA of the North helps provide high-quality educational, recreational, and leadership development activities and eliminate barriers to participation for all youth.

Job Summary: YMCA Beacons School Success programs engage youth as leaders and learners by transforming schools into active youth centers afterschool and in the summer, providing free high quality educational, recreational, and leadership development activities opportunities to kindergarten12th grade youth and their families at our 8 Beacons School Success Centers located in neighborhoods in Minneapolis, St.

Paul, and Richfield.

The Beacons School Success Lead Staff are mentors, role models, allies, and educators.

Lead staff are responsible for developing, planning, and leading groups of youth after-school.

This position operates at a specific Beacons School Success center.

The incumbent provides quality enrichment experiences for youth that focus on the YMCA core values: honesty, respect, responsibility, and caring.

Essential Functions: Plan, develop and implement enrichment curriculum and program activities with a group of young people.Provide work direction to program staff and volunteers while on duty.

Evaluate the program on a continuous basis and recommend needed changes to the Beacons School Success Sr.

Coordinator and/or Program Director.Ensure that the center and classroom spaces are kept clean and organized.Perform administrative activities to support the program, including collecting daily attendance.Assist in the promotion of the program including recruiting young people to program, communication to families and school staff.

Relationships: This position reports directly to the Sr.

Coordinator or Program Director.

The incumbent interacts with participants, parents, staff, school employees and the community.

4.

Qualifications: Required: Minimum age of 18.Experience and/or education in youth studies, child development, human relations, communication, or recreational programs.Certifications required within 30 days of hire: Adult and child CPR or CPR/PR; First Aid; and AED.Demonstrated ability to plan,...
