External Communications Specialist

SOLV Energy is a leading provider of infrastructure services to the power industry, designing, building and maintaining utility scale solar, battery storage and high voltage substation projects nationwide.

Job Description Summary:
The External Communications Specialist helps position SOLV Energy as a leading energy infrastructure services provider through strategic storytelling, media relations support, thought leadership content, and industry engagement.

This role proactively identifies and develops opportunities to showcase SOLV Energy's people, projects, expertise, and impact while building relationships across the business to surface compelling stories and strengthen the company's reputation among key external audiences.

This role is based full-time in our office in San Diego, Ca.

Position Responsibilities and Duties:

Media Relations & External Communications


* Draft and coordinate external communications materials, including press releases, media advisories, fact sheets, talking points, and briefing documents.


* Support media outreach efforts, interview preparation, and relationship-building with industry media and other external stakeholders.


* Monitor industry developments and identify opportunities to increase visibility for SOLV Energy, its projects, and its leaders.

Storytelling & Content Development


* Proactively identify, develop, and create content that highlights SOLV Energy's people, projects, innovations, partnerships, and industry expertise.


* Establish and maintain strong relationships with internal subject matter experts, project teams, and business leaders to identify emerging stories, innovations, and communications opportunities.


* Conduct research and interviews to gather information and develop compelling communications content.


* Develop a variety of content, including thought leadership articles, project spotlights, and LinkedIn content.


* Translate technical information into clear, compelling content for external audiences.


* Contribute ideas that support long-term storytelling, reputation-building, and business objectives.

Industry Intelligence & Thought Leadership


* Monitor industry, competitor, and company news and prepare regular reports highlighting key trends, opportunities, and potential reputational considerations.


* Stay informed on energy, infrastructure, construction, engineering, and adjacent industry developments to identify topics and trends relevant to SOLV Energy's business and communications strategy.
