Be part of our talented team and start soaring to new heights! JOB SUMMARY The Senior Design Engineer will support the LIFT team with innovative and effective design solutions for all components and assemblies related to aircraft seating.

From concept through production, this role is responsible for creating and helping implement practical, high-quality design solutions while considering regulatory requirements, customer needs, and company targets, including design for manufacturing and assembly.

Job assignments will be based on experience, job opening and budget availability, and the performance level of the incumbent.

SUMMARY OF JOB DUTIES Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions Apply sound engineering principles in the development of aircraft seating products.Provide design support for current and new product design projects.Create 3D models of individual components and assemblies in CATIA V5.Research and verify the design criteria and needs per customer, regulatory and company requirements.Design and optimize mechanical and structural components for aircraft seating.Develop and optimize designs which adhere to cost, volume, and quality targets established by company management and customer demand.Ensure designs are optimized for manufacturing and assembly, including soliciting observations from fabricators, operators, quality assurance, product support, and supply chain specialists.Propose and verify design concepts, including material and process selections.Create design proposals, including presentations, and objectively demonstrate the benefits and rationale behind proposed designs.Create and maintain design specific schedules and action plans.Must have the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

Experience in and understanding on a variety of manufacturing processes, including injection molding, composites forming, CNC machining, stampings, sheetmetal forming, forgings, castings, and thermoforming.
