Position Overview

The Scale Operator/Receptionist is a key front-line role responsible for greeting visitors, answering phones, and providing exceptional customer service, while also performing critical scale operations including weighing trucks, issuing tickets, maintaining records, and supporting field office functions.

This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, professionalism, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Reception & Front Office Responsibilities


* Welcome and direct visitors in person or by telephone.


* Maintain a professional, courteous, and helpful demeanor as the face of the company.


* Answer and route calls from a multi-line phone system; take and relay messages accurately.


* Maintain security by following check-in procedures and verifying visitor identification.


* Keep reception area clean, organized, and presentable.


* Sort, distribute, and prepare incoming/outgoing mail, faxes, and courier bags.


* Assist with filing, copying, scanning, and general administrative tasks.


* Schedule and manage conference room reservations.


* Respond to general inquiries about the company.

Scale Operation & Field Support Responsibilities


* Weigh and ticket trucks accurately and efficiently.


* Prepare daily load summaries and maintain time, material, and inventory records.


* Collect payments and adhere to company policies regarding inventory and payment accuracy.


* Maintain working knowledge of aggregate sizes, classifications, and weight requirements.


* Provide exceptional customer service to drivers, vendors, and internal staff.


* Perform light bookkeeping, basic data entry, and word processing tasks.


* Utilize company software including Excel, Word, Outlook, and database tools.


* Travel occasionally between locations as required (interstate highways to rural dirt roads).


* Assist with other duties as needed.
