Position Overview

The Bulker Driver is responsible for driving the cement tanker to supply terminals to pick up product and return to designated plants for unloading.

Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)


* Operates truck in safe and professional manner on public highways, roads, in the yard area to deliver materials.


* Inspects truck and bulker trailer as required at the start and end of each workday, completing the Driver Check-off Sheet which indicates that all systems are functioning properly.


* Maintain accurate delivery records and required daily vehicle logs.


* Load and unload materials in a safe and efficient manner, including assembling loading and unloading tubes.


* Assist with cement spill cleanup as needed.


* Clean truck after loading and delivery to prevent cement from hardening on truck and trailer in addition to spraying surfaces of truck with wash compound in accordance with company standards.


* Responsible for the efficient working condition of truck and trailer including perform minor servicing and maintenance or refer major problems to the supervisor.


* Properly follow all company policies and procedures for safe working procedures and environment.

Report any problems to the Foreman, Superintendent, Safety Manager, or Human Resources.


* Must meet all eligibility requirements for driving a commercial motor vehicle in interstate commerce as defined by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations and the Department of Transportation (DOT).


* Comply with all Department of Transportation (DOT) requirements including but not limited to vehicle weight, licensing, vehicle inspection and hours of service.

Education/Experience


* High School diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.


* One to two years Class A CDL driving experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of training and experience.


* Experience in a building materials/construction industry preferred.

Work Requirements


* Must be 21 years in age or older.


* Must pass pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check.


* Must possess and maintain a valid Class A Commercial Driver's License with Tanker Endorsement.
