ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Support daily operations of Y-Academy and/or Early Childhood programs.
Work closely with program leadership to support overall program quality and operations.
Fill in for the Child Care Director as needed and serve as lead staff member on site during absences.
Lead, mentor, support, and train classroom and site staff.
Provide direct classroom and ratio support throughout the day.
Support classrooms during transitions, meals, nap/rest time, arrival/departure, and staff breaks.
Build positive relationships with children, families, school personnel, and YMCA staff.
Support children through positive behavior guidance and developmentally appropriate practices.
Assist in creating, organizing, and implementing curriculum, lesson plans, enrichment activities, and family engagement opportunities.
Help develop and maintain program systems, schedules, procedures, and classroom organization.
Assist with onboarding and coaching staff members.
Ensure YMCA policies, licensing standards, safety procedures, and emergency procedures are followed at all times.
Maintain attendance, incident reports, developmental records, meal counts, and licensing documentation.
Maintain clean, organized, welcoming, and developmentally appropriate program spaces.
Participate in family events, staff meetings, trainings, licensing visits, and YMCA special events.
Assist with parent communication, concerns, and problem solving in a professional manner.
Maintain confidentiality of children, families, and staff information.
Ensure zero tolerance for abuse and actively participate in the protection of youth and teens.
Complete required trainings and certifications.
Perform all other duties as assigned.
