Job Description Job Title: Case Worker Reports To: DHHR Supervisor & YSS Director of Support Programs Last Modified: 07/07/25 Department: Programs Program: Community Based Sub-Program: Caseworkers FLSA Classification: Non-exempt Salary Range: $21.56 Position Status: Full-time Expected Hours of Work: 8:00 am-4:30pm (M-F).

Additional days or hours may be required.

Travel required: Frequent local travel Job Summary: This position is assigned to work in a WVDHHR office and under the direct supervision of a WVDHHR supervisor as part of that supervisors unit.

All casework supervision and training is provided by WVDHHR.

The caseworker is required to meet the requirements and standards established by WVDHHR.

The Caseworker manages a caseload of youth services clients as assigned.

The Caseworker is an employee of Youth Services System, Inc.

and is subject to all YSS policies and procedures.

This employee will ensure compliance with safe work practices and maintain safe environments in compliance with established agency standards, licensing regulations and generally accepted practices Duties and Responsibilities: Provide case work services to assigned clients.

Ensure an adequate and comprehensive assessment of client needs.

Develop and plan for identified services and ensure services are provided.

Assess client for ongoing needs and link to the provision of services.

Advocate for client and family needs and services with court systems, human service providers, health systems, as well as other community service providers, agencies or institutions.

Monitor and evaluate client progress, reassesses client needs and develop further interventions based on continuing assessment and evaluation of progress.

Develop and maintain complete, accurate case record documentation by established timelines.

Travel on behalf of client for client needs and services.

Attend all meetings and court hearings involving clients.

Attend training as scheduled Maintain a current social work license.

Actively participate in supervision with assigned supervisor.

Maintain a flexible work schedule to meet client needs.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities: Knowledge and experience with adolescents with mental health diagnosis Must have reliable transportation Knowledge of various systems including child welfare, mental health, education, and judicial Excellent time management and organizing skills Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and written Experience with Electronic Medical Records Systems Ability to manage a caseload Ability to work under pressure and multitask Proficient and accurate documentation Ability to use Adobe and Microsoft software Education and Experience: Requires Bachelor Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, Criminal Justice or related human services field; Requires valid Social Worker License or License eligibility; Prefers QMHP/C Certification.
