Senior Legal Counsel

Schneider Electric has a hybrid (2-3 days per week onsite) Senior Legal Counsel opportunity for candidates with at least five years of commercial contracting experience, based in one of the following hub locations: Boston, MA; Nashville, TN; Raleigh, NC; Houston, TX or Chicago, IL.

In this role, you will act as a strategic partner to various business units, providing legal oversight and leading the negotiation of complex equipment, software, and service agreements.

Roles & Responsibilities


* Contract Leadership: Lead the drafting, analysis, and negotiation of complex sales, software, and service agreements of varying scope and complexity.



* Strategic Partnership: Serve as a dedicated business counsel, providing actionable legal advice to internal stakeholders to support product offerings and customer projects.



* Conflict Resolution: Provide proactive "pre-dispute" guidance to mitigate risk and resolve customer conflicts early in the process.



* Operational Excellence: Drive thought leadership by developing best-in-class contracting templates, clause libraries, and negotiation playbooks.



* Compliance & Risk: Ensure business activities, policies, and transactions align with relevant laws, regulations, and company policies.


* Training: Develop and deliver legal training programs to internal business clients to enhance their commercial fluency.

Qualifications

This job might be for you if you have:


* Education & Licensure: A J.D.

from an accredited U.S.

law school and active Bar admission in at least one state.



* Proven Experience: 5+ years directly handling, drafting, and negotiating complex commercial equipment and service agreements.



* Proven Experience on high value contracts in the Data Center or EPC space preferred



* In-house experience is a plus; high-level law firm experience will be considered.



* Strategic Communication: The ability to translate intricate legal concepts into clear, actionable guidance for global teams.
