Ingénieur Firmware, system and cybersecurity test & design Embedded firmware - Angoulême, France -

L2A laboratory dedicated to Control & Signaling activities.

We test electromechanical products with our range of industrial push buttons, as well as electronic products with wired and wireless communication (Zigbee, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi).

This laboratory is Cofrac accredited and UL and CSA certified, giving it international recognition.

The team consists of around twenty people working in a variety of fields (environment/mechanics (vibration, shock, waterproofing, etc.), EMC, chemical and physical characterization of materials).

We also work on firmware validation and cybersecurity.

Your role:

As a Firmware Test Engineer, reporting to the Laboratory Manager and the Firmware R&D Manager (Philippe and Julien), you will play a key role in the development, validation, and maintenance of embedded firmware solutions.

You will work on a variety of projects, in close collaboration with the development, electronic testing, and product validation teams.

You will manage certifications related to testing and cybersecurity activities.

Your missions:

Development of new projects:


* Participate in defining architectures and drafting firmware and product specifications.


* Develop and execute firmware and system testing and validation plans (manual and automated).


* Develop, maintain, and optimize CI/CD (continuous integration and deployment) pipelines to ensure continuous integration, automated testing, and reliable firmware deployment.


* Perform firmware/hardware unit and integration tests and analyze the results to identify defects and propose corrective actions in collaboration with the development teams.


* Participate in firmware technical reviews.


* Perform system validation tests and oversee product validation tests.


* Oversee subcontracting for specific tests (penetration tests, certifications, etc.) and follow up on defects reported with the project team.

Maintenance of the existing offer:


* Test new features and software fixes.


* Perform non-regression testing.


* Monitor test results across different software versions.


* Participate in impact analyses and propose optimizations.


* Provide deliverables for updating archiving databases and cybersecurity reports (FCSR).

Your profile:


* Master's degree, industrial IT engineer


* 3 to 5 years of experience in embedded software development and testing

Your competencies:


* Proficiency in firmware testing and development environments (manual and automated)


* Knowledge of wired (Modbus, IO-Link, etc.) and wireless (Zigbee, BLE, NFC, etc.) communication protocols.


* Knowledge of embedded electronics and firmware/hardware integration.


* Experience in writing test plans and analyzing results.


* Knowledge of configuration management tools (PDM, SharePoint, Github, etc.).


* Curiosity and autonomy: ability to seek solutions independently
