Job Description Summary

West Virginia Paving, Inc.

is seeking motivated individuals to join our team as Asphalt Laborers through our On-the-Job Training (OJT) Program.

No previous asphalt, construction, or related experience is required.

We are looking for dependable individuals with a positive attitude and a willingness to learn.

Successful candidates will receive hands-on training while working alongside experienced crew members and will have opportunities for career growth within the organization.
Requirements


* No prior asphalt or construction experience required.


* Willingness to learn and work in a hands-on outdoor environment.


* Ability to work safely and follow all company safety policies and procedures.


* Work effectively in a team environment with co-workers, supervisors, and managers.


* Follow directions and complete assigned tasks as instructed.


* Assist asphalt paving crews with general labor duties.


* Learn to safely operate and maintain tools and equipment used on construction projects.


* Assist with shoveling, raking, and distributing asphalt materials.


* Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean and safe condition.


* Work outdoors in varying weather conditions and temperature extremes.


* Ability to work shifts typically ranging from 8 to 12 hours.


* Ability to work overtime, weekends, and travel to different job sites as needed.


* Maintain a professional and respectful attitude with co-workers, customers, and the public.


* Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of the job.


* Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
