Primary Functions of the Tire Technician:


* Tire Technicianis responsible for the inspection, diagnosis, reconditioning and repair and replacement of tires on company vehicles.

Responsibilities of Tire Technician:

Individuals must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.


* Follow all safety rules and regulations in performing work assignments while maintaining a safe work environment and safe work habits.



* Perform any inspections as required.


* Remove and replace tires on heavy duty trucks, pickup trucks and various other equipment with tires.


* Operate tire maintenance and tire balancing machines in a safe and effective manner.


* Ensure tires and wheels are mounted to specifications.


* Maintain records and account for all time, tires, parts, and supplies used in repairing and servicing equipment.


* Prepare all reports and forms required in conjunction with job assignments.


* Report to Shop Management any additional work required to ensure proper operation and safety of equipment.


* Participate in service training programs required for development of skills and knowledge.


* Maintain a clean work area / vehicle and perform work in a neat and orderly fashion.


* Bring to the attention of the Shop Management any shop tools, equipment or vehicle that is not in a serviceable condition or is unsafe to use.


* Maintain and care for shop tools, equipment, vehicles, and other employees' belongings.


* Operate vehicles with extreme care and caution.


* Ability to work up to 12-hour shifts, varying shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed.


* Ability to operate company vehicles and follow all motor vehicle state safety laws.

Qualifications


* Valid Driver's License and maintain a clean driving record.


* Pass pre-employment drug screen


* Ability to operate heavy equipment safely around the shop.

Education, Skill, and / or Experience Requirements:


* Minimum of 1-year related experience (preferred).


* Stay current with technical changes.


* Proficient knowledge of wheel and tire maintenance.


* Ability to communicate effectively with teammates.
