Adaptive Recreation Instructor

About the Role Make a meaningful impact in your community! The City of Kentwood is seeking an Adaptive Recreation Instructor to provide engaging and inclusive recreational opportunities for individuals with disabilities.

In this role, you'll lead a variety of programs--such as arts and crafts, cooking, gardening, and social activities--while fostering a supportive, fun, and inclusive environment for all participants .

What You'll Do As an Adaptive Recreation Instructor, you'll: Plan and lead adaptive recreational and enrichment programs such as Arts & Crafts, Cooking, Gardening, and Leisure Club.

Provide instruction and support tailored to participants' needs and abilities.

Foster a welcoming, inclusive, and positive environment for all participants.

Supervise participants to ensure safety and encourage social interaction and confidence-building.

Manage program supplies, report maintenance needs, and ensure equipment is used responsibly.

Complete attendance, incident, and other department forms as required.

Provide excellent customer service and maintain a professional, courteous demeanor with participants, families, and staff Every day, you'll make a lasting impact by helping participants learn new skills, make friends, and have fun in a safe and supportive environment.

About You You're caring, patient, and creative--and you believe everyone deserves access to recreation that fits their needs.

You enjoy helping others succeed and thrive in a team-oriented, community-focused setting.
