Job Duties and Responsibilities Provides direct and compassionate Patient Care, preparing patients for examinations and treatments.Measures and accurately records Vital Signs Measurement, including blood pressure, temperature, pulse, respiration, and weight.Performs Phlebotomy for blood collection, ensuring proper labeling and handling of specimens.Utilizes Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems to document patient information, update charts, and manage appointments.Applies Medical Terminology correctly in all written and verbal communications within the clinical setting.Administers Injections as directed by a licensed healthcare provider, following all safety protocols.Collects and processes Specimen Collection (e.g., urine, throat swabs), preparing them for laboratory analysis.Implements Sterilization Techniques for medical instruments and maintains a clean, organized, and sterile environment in exam rooms.Delivers clear Patient Education regarding procedures, medications, and general health information.Ensures strict HIPAA Compliance in all aspects of patient interaction and information handling, safeguarding patient privacy.Assists physicians and other healthcare professionals during examinations and procedures.Manages inventory of medical supplies and equipment, ensuring availability.Responds to patient inquiries and provides support, both in person and over the phone.
Required Qualifications Education Completes a high school diploma or GED equivalent.Graduates from an accredited Medical Assistant program.Holds current Medical Assistant certification (e.g., CMA, RMA, CCMA, NCMA).
Experience Possesses at least one year of experience working as a Medical Assistant in a clinical setting.
Knowledge/Skills Demonstrates strong proficiency in Patient Care and patient communication.Excels in Vital Signs Measurement and accurate documentation.Performs Phlebotomy with skill and precision.Navigates Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems efficiently.Understands and applies Medical Terminology effectively.Administers Injections safely and competently.Executes Specimen Collection and processing protocols accurately.Applies Sterilization Techniques rigorously to maintain a sterile environment.Provides clear and concise Patient Education.Adheres strictly to HIPAA Compliance guidelines.Exhibits excellent organizational and time management skills.Works effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
