Truck Gate Security Officer - 2nd Shift

Schedule: 2nd Shift, Monday through Thursday, 2:00pm - 12:45am, 10-hour shifts Summary We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Truck Gate Security Officer to perform required vehicle and trailer inspections at our Foreign Trade Zone warehouse.

This position is responsible for completing documented 17-point security inspections of commercial trucks and trailers entering our facility.

The officer looks for damage, tampering, unusual conditions, or other abnormalities and accurately records each inspection using established checklists and procedures.

This is not a mechanical, DOT, or emissions inspection position.

No vehicle repair experience is required.

Success in the role depends on attention to detail, observation, consistency, sound judgment, and accurate documentation.

The position works primarily outdoors at the facilitys truck entrance.

A climate-controlled guard shack is available between inspections.

Daily inspection volume typically averages 1215 trucks but may reach approximately 30 trucks during high-volume periods.

Key Responsibilities Conduct consistent 17-point security inspections of commercial trucks, trailers, containers, and related transportation equipment entering the FTZ site.

Check for damage, tampering, foreign objects, unusual conditions, or other security concerns using established procedures and checklists.Maintain accurate and complete records of all inspections, including vehicle and trailer information, seal details, inspection results, and any abnormalities or concerns identified.Follow all facility safety, traffic-control, and security procedures.

Ensure drivers and vehicles comply with established entry requirements before proceeding into the facility.Work closely with Shipping and Receiving, Security, and warehouse leadership to promptly report inspection concerns, damaged seals, documentation issues, or suspicious conditions.Follow established procedures when a vehicle does not meet inspection requirements.

Clearly communicate concerns to the appropriate manager and hold the vehicle from proceeding until authorized.Maintain knowledge of the facilitys FTZ security requirements, inspection procedures, and documentation standards.

Participate in required training and cross-training opportunities.Maintain inspection mirrors, flashlights, radios, tablets, checklists, and other assigned equipment in clean and working condition.

Report damaged or missing equipment promptly.Identify opportunities to improve the consistency, accuracy, safety, and efficiency of the vehicle inspection process.Work closely with drivers, Security Officers, Shipping and Receiving employees, and warehouse personnel to maintain an orderly and efficient flow of vehicles through the inspection area.
