Job Summary

This is an internship position at CITGO Petroleum Corporation Headquarters, Houston, TX.

The IAM Security Intern will support the Information Security department by performing administrative responsibilities for protecting CITGO information.

Minimum Qualifications



* Must be enrolled in an accredited Cybersecurity/Risk Management, or other IT-related degree program with a sophomore classification or higher.


* Must have a 3.0 GPA or higher.


* A solid understanding of information security principles, best practices, and current threats.


* Knowledge of Network security principles, best practices, and common vulnerabilities.


* Knowledge of laws, regulations, policies, and ethics related to cybersecurity and privacy.


* Strong communication and presentation, analytical and problem-solving skills.


* Highly motivated self-starter who can self-prioritize to ensure optimum & timely results.


* Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining up-to-date knowledge of the field.

Preferred:


* Professional certifications such as Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) is a plus.

Job Duties

Conducts daily monitoring of AIX, Windows NT/2000/XP, Oracle and SAP logs.

Performs quarterly monitoring of network servers and devices pertaining to Information Security using vulnerability scanning and penetration testing.

Supports Identity and Access management user security assignments.

Collecting approvals.

Ensuring compliance with access policies and procedures for access.

Provisioning and Deprovisioning of user accounts and user access.

Evaluates, recommends, develops, and maintains Information Security policies and procedures.

Monitors, analyzes, and works customer requests via ticket system with good follow up on open items.

Assist with preparation and execution of company wide Information Security Awareness.

Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Must work well in team setting with limited supervision.
