Business Development Manager

Job Description The Business Development Manager is responsible for all sourcing and origination activity supporting Alloy's M&A growth strategy -- both new platform opportunities and add-on acquisitions for existing partner companies.

This is a hands-on, high-ownership role at the center of Alloy's deal pipeline, combining direct outreach with the leadership of a growing business development function.

Key responsibilities include: • Own end-to-end sourcing and origination of M&A platform and add-on opportunities within Alloy's target markets and investment criteria.

• Lead cold outreach efforts across multiple channels -- phone calls, email campaigns (including AI-assisted outreach agents), direct mail, and other creative origination tactics.

• Represent Alloy at industry events, trade shows, and conferences to build relationships and identify prospective partners.

• Build and maintain a robust, well-qualified pipeline of business owners and operators that fit Alloy's investment profile.

• Develop and nurture long-term relationships with business owners well ahead of a transaction, serving as a trusted first point of contact for Alloy.

• Manage, coach, and develop a Business Development Associate, setting outreach priorities and ensuring consistent pipeline execution.

• Partner closely with the deal, investment, and executive teams to hand off qualified opportunities and support diligence and closing.

• Track and report on outreach activity, pipeline health, and conversion metrics; continuously refine sourcing strategy based on results.

Qualifications • Minimum of 3 years of experience in investment sales, private equity, investment banking, or corporate finance, with direct exposure to deal sourcing or origination.

• Demonstrated track record of building and running a high-volume outbound sales or origination pipeline.

• Comfort and confidence with high-volume cold outreach -- phone, email, and in-person -- and resilience in the face of rejection.
