Business Development Associate

Job Description The Business Development Associate is responsible for driving the top of Alloy's M&A funnel through high-volume outbound outreach to prospective sellers.

This is an energetic, front-line role for someone who is excited to get on the phone every day, build genuine rapport with business owners, and help identify Alloy's next great roofing partner.

The Associate will report to and work closely with the Business Development Manager, with clear opportunity to grow into a more senior origination role.

Key responsibilities include: • Make a high volume of daily cold calls to owners of roofing and related home services businesses to introduce Alloy and gauge interest in a partnership.

• Send personalized follow-up emails, and support broader email and mailer campaigns to prospective sellers.

• Qualify inbound and outbound leads against Alloy's investment criteria and route qualified conversations to the Business Development Manager.

• Maintain accurate, up-to-date records of all outreach activity, conversations, and lead status in the CRM.

• Use AI-assisted calling and outreach tools to increase the reach and efficiency of daily prospecting activity.

• Research target companies and markets ahead of outreach to personalize conversations and identify strong-fit prospects.

• Help coordinate outreach around industry events, conferences, and trade shows.

• Consistently hit weekly and monthly outreach activity targets (calls, emails, and qualified conversations).

Qualifications • Minimum of 1 year of work experience, ideally in sales, business development, recruiting, or a similarly outreach-heavy role.

• Comfortable and confident making a high volume of cold calls every day, with resilience in the face of rejection.

• Strong verbal communication skills and a friendly, professional phone presence.

• Clear, concise written communication skills for email outreach and CRM notes.

• Coachable and eager to learn, with a genuine interest in building a career in business development, private equity, or M&A.
