Position Overview

The Batch Plant Operator is responsible for controlling production and load out of materials produced in the batch plant, as well as for scheduling and ensuring timely delivery of supplies to the plant to perform duties in conjunction with dispatch loading instructions.

Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)


* Batch concrete loads according to mixed designs and specifications.

Reads dispatch orders and understands required needs for production of materials.


* Monitor gauges, dials, and operation of machinery to ensure conformance to processing specifications.


* Coordinate batching and loading of all concrete leaving plant.

Check concretes slump to ensure proper specifications.

Must be able to produce on-time & in-spec concrete for the customer.


* Conduct batching operations in an efficient and safe manner while complying with all local, state, and federal regulations.


* Conduct batching functions in a professional manner and ensure compliance with job specifications and all applicable environmental and air quality regulations.


* Responsible for efficient working conditions of plant equipment.

Performs maintenance to batch plant which includes greasing, sweeping, shoveling, performing equipment repairs, cleaning, and removing jam-ups.


* Become proficient in necessary batching, dispatching, & quality control software.

Ability to understand appropriate uses of various mix designs.


* Maintain time and material records.


* Other duties as assigned.

Education/Experience


* High School diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.


* 1-2 years of concrete or construction-related experience required.

+ Must be 18 years in age or older.
+ Must pass pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check.
+ Possessing and maintain a valid drivers license preferred.
+ Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in the Employee and Safety Policy Manuals/Handbooks.
+ Regular, on-time and consistent attendance is required and must be willing to work nights, weekends, and holidays when necessary.
