Position Overview

The Sweeper Truck Operator/Driver is responsible for maintaining clean, safe, and efficient paved surfaces by removing debris, dust, and loose material from roads, parking lots, and other paved areas.

This role is essential in both construction and maintenance operations, ensuring surfaces meet safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)


* Properly follow all company policies and procedures for safe working procedures and environment.

Report any problems to the Foreperson, Safety Manager, or Human Resources Manager.


* Perform daily pre/post trip inspections with appropriate documentation in compliance with DOT guidelines


* Obey applicable laws and follow dispatch instructions for schedule


* Maintain daily vehicle mileage logs if required


* Monitor and adjust the sweeper's settings to ensure effective cleaning without damaging the pavement


* Work with other crew members, dump trucks, and paving equipment to maintain a smooth workflow


* Pre-shift and Post Shift inspection of the sweeper for damage or wear, perform routine maintenance, and report malfunctions to supervisors


* Use hand or audio signals to coordinate with the team, especially when aligning with dump trucks or other machinery


* Assist in setting up and dismantling equipment before and after operations


* Document daily production, material usage, and any issues encountered


* Must keep vehicle in clean and orderly condition.

Qualifications and Required Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Education/Experience


* High school education or GED preferred but not required


* Class B (minimum requirement) Commercial Drivers License with a good driving record
