Academic Records Specialist
General Job Brief This position is responsible for supporting the instructional mission of Arizona Christian University by initiating and maintaining student records for the Office of the Registrar.
This role also requires a comprehensive understanding of and commitment to the unique Christian mission and vision of ACU to Transform Culture with Truth, and the ability to advance that mission and vision through the performance of its duties, including person-to-person mentorship and discipleship.
Typical Duties Initiate and maintain Student Records and student degree audits in the Student Information System, coordinating with Admissions and the CRM system used by Admissions.Evaluate official transcripts in consultation with Academic Department Chairs and enter into the Student Information System.Download transcripts and test scores from the various transcript services.Evaluate course substitutions requested by Enrollment and the Student, in consultation with Academic Department Chairs.Evaluate and approve requests for post-enrollment transfer credits.Evaluate unofficial transcript credits in support of Admissions.Oversee, as necessary, student workers who support manual data entry activities.Perform system administrative tasks for the Transfer Evaluation System (TES)Assist with graduation planning and execution.Perform other duties as requested by the University Registrar.Provide spiritual guidance, prayer, and support for others.
Other Duties and Responsibilities Completing other duties and tasks with utmost integrity and professionalism, as directed, and not necessarily mentioned in this description, may be asked on a volunteer basis.Commitment to the Universitys faith statement, mission, and purposes; and an active Christian faith.Comfort and familiarity with the practice of praying with and for others, including students, faculty, and fellow University staff.The ability to meaningfully support and encourage students, faculty, and staff from a biblical worldview perspective, using relevant and applicable references from the Old and New Testaments and orthodox Christian writings.
Demonstrated alignment with and enthusiastic support for the Christian Mission and Core Commitments of the University, including signing the University's Statement of Faith and Core Commitments annually.
Knowledge Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software and e-mail.Ability to learn and work in various computer information systems.Must be able to deal with a wide range of confidential material.
Education and Experience Bachelors Degree preferred, but not required.Minimum of two to five years of experience in admissions, registrar, academics, or related experience.
