Forest Carbon Analyst
This position may be based in any state where we currently have operations, however, preference will be given to candidates located in the Seattle area.
Candidates outside of the Seattle area must live within a reasonable driving distance of a commercial airport and be able to travel regularly for in-person meetings and other business needs.

Whether you already have a few years of forest carbon experience or come from a strong quantitative forestry background, you love solving complex problems and learning new systems.
You're comfortable working with data and tools like R, Python, SQL, or GIS software, and you enjoy using them to solve real forestry and climate problems.
You thrive on collaboration and are excited to make a measurable impact by supporting high-quality forest carbon projects.
What you'll do: As a Forest Carbon Analyst, you'll help power Green Diamond's forest carbon program, from project design and development through long-term monitoring.
This position bridges internal collaboration and external engagement, working closely with colleagues, management, technical consultants, and partners across the carbon sector.
You'll build and maintain relationships with peers and experts in the field while helping ensure our projects deliver real, lasting climate benefits while sustaining the ecological and financial health of our forests.
Here are some examples of the daily work you will do: Support forest carbon project modeling and quantification, including growth and yield analysis and carbon calculation workbooks across multiple active projects.
Assist with the design and implementation of forest carbon inventories and GIS layers, including data collection, stratification, and QA/QC.
Prepare monitoring reports and Offset Project Data Reports (OPDRs), and support verification processes with third-party verifiers and registries.
Maintain a calendarized workflow across projects, tracking deliverables and milestones at varying stages.
Support feasibility assessments and analytical projects -- from breakeven and cash flow analysis to internal tool and workflow improvements.
Stay current on evolving carbon standards, protocols, and regulatory developments in the forest carbon sector.
Collaborate closely with divisional staff, technical consultants, and management to ensure effective coordination and communication.
Annual Salary Range: $81,300 - $101,600 per year.
The pay range listed is just one component of Green Diamond's total compensation package.
