The Laboratory Technician role performs a variety of testing, project specific observations and site assessment duties under direct supervision and/or from detailed controlled procedures.

What you'll do:


* Perform laboratory testing on soil, aggregate, concrete, asphalt, and other construction materials following ASTM, AASHTO, and TxDOT standards.


* Prepare, cure, and test concrete cylinders and other laboratory specimens.


* Conduct routine laboratory procedures including moisture content, Atterberg limits, Proctor compaction, sieve analysis, and compressive strength testing.


* Accurately record test data and assist in preparing laboratory reports.


* Maintain laboratory equipment, tools, and work areas in a clean and organized condition.


* Assist with calibration and routine maintenance of laboratory equipment.


* Follow all company safety policies and quality assurance procedures.


* Work closely with laboratory personnel to meet project deadlines.


* Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements & Qualifications:


* Valid driver's license and ability to perform fieldwork and reliable driving record


* High School Diploma or GED equivalent


* Must be able to work off shift and overtime as needed


* Ability to lift, move, push and pull 30 to 50 pounds frequently; Occasionally, over 50 pounds with assistance


* Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, (hearing) and to make the discriminations in sound


* Ability to kneel and squat occasionally


* Ability to walk and stand for long periods of time
