About You

We’re looking for a commercially driven Distribution Account Manager to manage a significant inland B2B distributor portfolio and accelerate growth through end-user conversion.

This is a field-based, strategic sales role combining distributor account management with hands-on coaching of distributor sales representatives, joint customer visits and the development of growth plans with key partners.

The successful candidate will be a confident hunter who can open doors, influence end users, train distributor teams and convert opportunities across the hygiene/professional channel, while managing a large regional territory across Gauteng, Limpopo, North West, Botswana and Mozambique

Experience in professional foodservice, hygiene, chemical or B2B solution sales would be highly relevant, particularly where you have built distributor partnerships and driven measurable end-user wins

Job responsibilities include:

Managing a selected portfolio of distributor and end user customers that have been selected either as a defined customer portfolio or in a defined geographical area.


* Responsible for the management of selected channel partners and associated End Users in a defined area (customer portfolio or geography):
+ Treatment (as per Commercial Policies when implemented)
+ Contract Management
+ Revenue generation (New Business/Pricing)
+ Margin Improvement (Price/Mix)


* Understanding the market segments, resellers and end users served by the distributor


* Ability to coordinate a gap analysis with your knowledge of the route to market, supply chain and relevant touch points.


* Ability to build and execute annual plans.


* Complete understanding of rebate & Marketing Development Fund principles and their effect on the business (where applicable)


* Understand and clearly communicate, both internally and externally, ownership of customers (either distributor or KCP), for management of specific activities (e.g.: price increase, product launches).


* Management of account receivables to avoid bad debts (liaise with credit control / distributors to ensure compliance with payment terms).
