Position Overview

The Leave Administrator is responsible for the administration, coordination, and compliance of employee leave programs, including Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) accommodations, state and local leave laws, military leave, personal leaves of absence, and company-sponsored leave programs.

This position serves as a key resource to employees, managers, and Human Resources by ensuring leave requests are handled accurately, consistently, confidentially, and in compliance with applicable laws and company policies.

Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)


* Manages employee leave of absence programs, including personal, ADA, disability leave, paternity/maternity leave, family leave (FML), and other statutory and non-statutory leaves.


* Maintain a strong familiarity and understanding of all leave policies and plan across: TX, LA, TN, AR and MS.


* Have a strong knowledge and understanding of relevant federal, state, and local jurisdiction regulations and compliance requirements.


* Primary contact for the South Central division to follow up on leave claims that have missing or incomplete information.


* Respond to Leave of Absence information requests from Third-Party Administrator (UNUM) meeting designated deadlines.


* File state leave paperwork with government agencies and reports, where applicable.


* Collaborate on leave requests and status updates with Management, Human Resources, Workers' Compensation, BenAdmin, Payroll, and other groups.


* Ensuring HR and supervisors are well informed of any changes to leave provision and/or any leave related issues about employees.


* Communicate with employees about applicable leave options.


* Understand and communicate pay for time not worked, and the variances from regular wages and payroll deductions.


* Maintains contact with employees to address leave requests, modifications to leave, and potential return-to-work accommodations.


* Ensures all correspondence from employees are investigated and responded to appropriately.


* Administers all FMLA, LOA, Military Leave orders, etc.

with vendor and corresponds with all applicable parties about status of orders.


* Track and ensure that employee records are accurate and maintained.
