Job Description:

Position Summary:   Quality Specialists are responsible for auditing product & raw materials while advising production & operations team members as process sustainment or adjustments are required to meet or exceed customer requirements. 

 

Essential Functions:   


* In-person attendance. 



* Conduct routine and non-routine analyses of in-process raw materials or finished goods. 



* Receive and inspect raw materials. 



* Test & interpret results, compare them to established specifications and control limits, and make recommendations on appropriateness of data for release. 



* Participate in out-of-specification and failure investigations and recommend corrective actions. 



* Perform visual inspections of finished products. 



* Serve as a technical liaison between quality control and other departments, vendors, or contractors. 



* May train others including operators from production departments. 



* May use general hand tools (such as hammers) and office supplies (such as staplers). 



* Supports, maintains and sustains 6S initiatives. 



* Supports Continuous Improvement by participating in and sustaining the MasterBrand Production System (MPS). 



* Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor. 

 

Knowledge and Experience: 


* Read tape measures, measure parts, caliper, read order tickets. 



* Ability to identify parts necessary to assemble cabinets doors, drawers and/or complete cabinets by species, size and style. 



* Knowledge of procedures for the safe and proper handling of hazardous chemicals and materials. 



* Understanding of decimal/fraction/metric calculation and conversion. 



* Learn to identify cabinet profiles and colors involved in cabinet manufacturing. 



* Utilizes electronic email & document management software, and imaging / measurement equipment. 

 

General Requirements: 


* Read, write, comprehend and carry out all written and verbal departmental instructions. 



* Maintain clean, safe, and orderly work area, giving safety of self and others a priority. 



* Follow all established safety practices and procedures, including reading and understanding material and safety data sheets, lockout policy, and entanglement policy.
