Position Summary

We are seeking a dependable and compassionate Cook to join our dietary team.

In this role, you will help prepare nutritious, appetizing meals for our residents while maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary kitchen environment.

You will play an important part in ensuring residents receive meals that meet both their dietary needs and personal preferences.
Your Day-to-Day


* Assist the Dietary Manager with meal preparation and food production


* Prepare and serve meals following approved menus and recipes


* Ensure meals are prepared according to physician-ordered dietary restrictions and special diets


* Monitor food quality, presentation, and portion sizes


* Maintain a high level of cleanliness and sanitation throughout the kitchen and dining areas


* Follow all food safety, infection control, and sanitation guidelines


* Store food and supplies properly and safely


* Assist with meal service and tray preparation as needed


* Wash dishes and clean kitchen equipment as assigned


* Help ensure residents receive meals that meet their nutritional needs


* Work collaboratively with dietary staff and other departments to provide excellent resident care

Qualifications
Preferred Candidates Will Have:


* Reliable transportation


* At least 18 years of age


* Previous cooking or food service experience, preferably in a healthcare, rehabilitation, or long-term care setting


* Knowledge of dietary restrictions and therapeutic diets


* Compassion for the geriatric population


* Strong teamwork and communication skills


* Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
