Manager, Controls Engineering

POSITION PURPOSE

 

The Manager – Controls Engineering, Global (hereafter ‘Manager, Controls’) will lead a group of Software (Firmware) and Hardware engineers to develop Controls solutions, and to lend technical support/guide various engineering/manufacturing groups within BAC.

This includes responsibility for Controls features and cost, schedule management of projects assigned within group, and relationship management with other leaders around the business.

This individual will ensure all Controls on BAC products meet or exceed performance and regulatory standards (both internal and external).

Interaction will be from a technical perspective to the leadership counterparts in engineering management, product management, manufacturing, supply chain, and other functions, as needed.

This position is a hands-on engineering management role that can perform a wide variety of tasks with minimal supervision, using technical and administrative skills.  Work shall be done independently and as part of project teams.

* Ability to understand and translate customer/marketing requirements into project scopes, timelines, hardware arrangements, and firmware structure

Technical Skills:


* Work without direct guidance or direction from others and manage complex situations requiring resource and trade off analysis.


* Experienced with PLCs, and coding in Structured Text and C/++


* Experienced in developing test plans for software, firmware and hardware


* Basic knowledge of digital hardware


* Ability to manage a group budget


* Jira, Github, Matlab; Intermediate Excel, Powerpoint, Word skills


* Basic Project Management skills; Experience working in a scrum environment

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering or equiv, graduate level certificate or degree preferred

10 + years of Controls engineering experience, 3+ years managing others
