We're hiring a Welder/ Fabricator to join County Prestress in Roberts, Wisconsin

Job Summary:

As a Welder Fabricator , you will read blueprints, fabricate metal components, and perform welding operations (MIG, TIG, SMAW/Stick) to assemble structures and equipment.

This role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work with a variety of metals in a fast-paced fabrication environment.

You will operate equipment such as plasma cutters, grinders, cranes, and forklifts , ensuringall work meets quality, safety, and welding standards .

Job Duties & Responsibilities:


* Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and welding symbols


* Cut, bend, shape, and assemble metal components using fabrication tools


* Perform welding using:



*
+ MIG welding
+ TIG welding
+ Stick welding (SMAW)
+ Oxy-acetylene torch



* Operate fabrication equipment including:



*
+ Plasma cutters
+ Ironworkers & shears
+ Drill presses & grinders
+ Overhead cranes & forklifts



* Inspect welds to ensure structural integrity and code compliance


* Work with a variety of metals (steel, stainless steel, copper, alloys)



* Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment


* Complete work orders, job documentation, and quality checks


* Follow all OSHA and workplace safety standards

Experience & Qualifications: (Required or Preferred)


* Minimum 2+ years of welding and fabrication experience


* Proficiency in MIG, TIG, and Stick welding


* Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints


* Experience using fabrication tools and heavy equipment


* Strong understanding of metal properties and welding safety


* Excellent attention to detail and craftsmanship


* Ability to lift materials and perform physically demanding work


* Strong hand-eye coordination and mechanical aptitude


* AWS Certification (American Welding Society) preferred
