Course Coordinator
Job Description
Key Responsibilities
* Manage the student experience in collections of courses or educational offerings to ensure quality experience to students and faculty at scale.
This will require collaboration with individual faculty members and course assistants.
* Oversee the learning support for students through onboarding, orientation, and management of course assistants and other student support resources.
* Design and develop a learning support processes and systems with continual updates and improvements, responding to student feedback during term cycles.
* Maintain accurate records in Stevens’ systems (LMS, CRMs, Workday) and ensure timely follow-up.
* Collaborate with faculty and student support services (CAPS/CARE team) to promote persistence and retention.
* Monitor and report on student engagement trends and issue logs to program leadership.
* Monitor and track key course performance and student outcome metrics including comparative data.
* Service as the primary point of contact between student course support and faculty, instructional design, and program leadership.
* Offer course content and pedagogical method insights that support consistent student experience and deliver highest quality learning outcomes.
* Maintain course support project management plans and records from small improvements to complete revision timelines.
* Communicate to and develop buy-in amongst faculty and learning support and Instructional Design Teams for Online Programs course delivery at scale best practices and tools including course content and pedagogical approaches.
* Maintain an intellectual curiosity for content areas present in the Online Programs portfolio of educational offerings including staying current with existing course offerings and pursuing deeper knowledge in content areas within the course mangers portfolio.
* Perform class auditing and observations, review student feedback, analyze course evaluations, and consult with faculty, program leadership, and instructional design teams.
Use this information to improve courses by recommending new or changed teaching methods and content.
* Meet with faculty, program leadership, and instructional design teams to ensure issues are addressed and continuous improvement is a priority within individual courses as well as across specializations and programs.
* Participate in course delivery including knowledge of course messaging and LMS platform capabilities.
Maintain a deep knowledge of individual course delivery and content.
* Duties and responsibilities of this role may require evening and weekend working hours.
Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in higher education, communications, or related field preferred.
