Onsite Laboratory Administrator
Job Description
The Technical Laboratory Administrator plays a critical role in maintaining efficient laboratory operations, supporting technical personnel, and ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and security of laboratory data and processes.
This role ensures laboratory compliance with regulatory requirements, maintains laboratory information systems, coordinates equipment maintenance and calibration, manages documentation and records, supports quality assurance initiatives, and serves as a key liaison between laboratory staff, management, vendors, and external stakeholders.
On-site: Monday-Friday
Laboratory Administrative Assistant - Responsibilities:
* Coordinate daily laboratory administrative operations to ensure efficient workflow.
* Develop, maintain, and organize laboratory documentation, procedures, policies, and records.
* Manage scheduling, inventory tracking, purchasing requests, and vendor communications.
* Maintain laboratory files and ensure proper document control practices.
* Support onboarding and training administration for laboratory personnel.
* Support compliance with applicable regulatory and accreditation standards (e.g., ISO 17025, ISO 15189, CLIA, CAP, GMP, GLP, OSHA, or other industry-specific requirements).
* Coordinate internal audits, inspections, and corrective action activities.
* Maintain equipment inventories and asset tracking systems.
* Schedule preventive maintenance, calibration, validation, and certification activities.
* Coordinate equipment repairs and service calls with vendors.
* Coordinate laboratory safety inspections and corrective actions.
Laboratory Administrative Assistant - Job Requirements:
* Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Laboratory Science, Biology, Chemistry, Medical Technology, Business Administration, Information Technology, or a related field.
* Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
* 3-5 years of experience in laboratory administration, laboratory operations, technical support, or a related environment.
* Experience with laboratory information systems (LIMS) preferred.
* Experience supporting regulated laboratory environments preferred.
Physical Requirements
* Ability to sit, stand, and work at a computer for extended periods.
* Occasional lifting of laboratory supplies and equipment up to 25 pounds.
* Ability to access laboratory environments and observe safety protocols.
