What We're Looking For:

Michael Baker International’s Bridge team is seeking a Bridge Design Engineer.

Remote anywhere in Montana OK.

In this role, you will contribute to the design and delivery of bridge projects, supporting a variety of structural engineering tasks from preliminary analysis through final design and construction support.

You will work alongside experienced engineers and project managers on a diverse portfolio of projects across Montana and the Western United States.

What You'll Do:


* Support bridge design efforts for a variety of structure types, including steel and concrete bridges, under the guidance of senior engineers.


* Perform structural analysis and design calculations in accordance with AASHTO LRFD specifications.


* Assist in the development of plans, specifications, and estimates (PS&E).


* Utilize structural analysis and design software such as Midas, LARSA, or SAP2000.


* Coordinate with multidisciplinary project teams, including roadway, geotechnical, and construction professionals.


* Assist in reviewing project deliverables to ensure quality and compliance with client and regulatory standards.


* Participate in project meetings and contribute to technical discussions.


* Provide support during construction, including responding to RFIs and reviewing shop drawings.


* Stay current with industry standards, best practices, and emerging technologies.

What You Need to Succeed:


* Bachelor’s degree in civil or Structural Engineering (Master’s preferred).


* 6+ years of experience in bridge or transportation structural engineering.


* Strong understanding of AASHTO LRFD design specifications.


* Experience with structural analysis software (e.g., Midas, LARSA, SAP2000).


* Familiarity with MDT standards and procedures is a plus.
