AirCircuit Breaker Continuous Engineer, Electromechanics / Mechanical Design
The Continuous Engineer - Air Circuit Breakers is responsible for maintaining, developing, optimizing, and validating electromechanical designs for Air Circuit Breaker offer.
This role contributes to business continuity, cost optimization, product robustness, and manufacturability improvements.
The position requires strong technical autonomy, advanced electromechanical design capability, CAD proficiency, design-to-cost mindset, critical thinking, and the ability to make decisions in complex or ambiguous development environments.
The engineer will work with offer management, manufacturing, quality, industrialization, procurement, testing, certification, and project teams to deliver innovative, reliable, manufacturable, and standards-compliant solutions.
What will you do?
Business continuity
* Maintain the existing ACB offer from a technical perspective.
* Participate and provide engineering guidance to product evolution projects.
* Support manufacturing sites with technical ownership on the ACB offer.
* Support root cause analysis for field and manufacturing issues.
* Ensure changes or deviations do not create unintended consequences for other plants, product variants, or customer applications
Electromechanical Design and Optimization
* Design and optimize mechanical and electromechanical assemblies, including mechanism, current carrying parts, electrical contacts, barriers, mounting systems, and related components.
* Apply CAD, GD&T, tolerance analysis, material selection, surface treatment, design-for-manufacturing, and design-for-assembly principles.
* Use simulation, modeling, prototyping, and test feedback to improve performance and manufacturability.
* Balance trade-offs between cost, performance, reliability, manufacturability, safety, compliance, installation efficiency, and customer value.
Design-To-Cost and Product Competitiveness
* Lead or support design-to-cost initiatives.
* Identify opportunities to reduce material cost, assembly complexity, part count, tooling impact, and product variability.
* Collaborate with procurement, manufacturing, quality, and industrialization teams to develop validation plans.
What are the key skills we are looking for?
* Electromechanical Engineering - advanced level; integrating mechanical and electrical components into cohesive systems
* Mechanical Design - advanced level; developing robust designs that meet performance and reliability standards
* Design For Safety and Reliability - advanced level; ensuring systems comply with safety regulations and operational requirements
