What you'll do

As an Unclaimed Property Tax Manager within the Indirect Tax group, you will provide tax consulting and compliance services to a diverse client base in a variety of industry sectors.

You will work directly with the client, manage the tax engagement team, have access to an elite group of specialists when needed, and be connected to a strong support system from firm Leadership to ensure you are set up for success in your role and career.

Responsibilities include


* You'll help with assessing our client's state and local tax burden and recommend solutions that support their overall business objectives to ensure that their filling positions are consistent with good business practices and with the states applicable tax laws and rules.


* Our team helps our clients comply with complex laws and requirements related to uncashed payroll checks, aged accounts receivable credits, and other types of abandoned and unclaimed property


* Assist multi-state companies with state unclaimed property matters including audit defense, voluntary compliance, annual reporting, developing policies and procedures, and consulting.


* Review unclaimed property compliance processes and making recommendations for improvement


* Assist Deloitte audit teams with review and analysis of unclaimed property reserves.


* Assist multi-state companies with unclaimed property audits which includes preparing clients for discussions with auditors, review document requests, review audit assessments, and representing the client at meetings.


* Research and draft technical memoranda regarding the jurisdictions unclaimed property compliance rules


* Supervise, mentor, and develop staff

Our specific services include state income and franchise tax, indirect tax, business restructuring, credits and incentives, sales and use tax outsourcing, excise tax, property tax, state strategic tax review, and state tax controversy.
